Free Women’s Small Business Workshop
Florida CFO Jeff Atwater will be offering free workshops for women business owners as part of Your Money Matter$,
an interactive financial education initiative for small business owners.
This series of workshops will be held during the month of October, which is Women’s Small Business Month and
will provide easy-to-understand training and financial education that will increase knowledge
and improve success of your business.
The workshops will be led by Angie Hollerich, an experienced financial consultant,
professional speaker and published author.

At ITS 2011, one volunteer shift gets free admission to the August 31st event. Or help with planning for Tampa area’s first Gasparilla Interactive Event focusing on business innovation, design, and programming. And let’s not forget our economic growth focus-group, sharing insights with our area county officials on how best to attract young professionals and new businesses to the area.

Let Me Be Clear: Science Journalism
in the Age of the Genome and Twitter

Florida is home to an increasing array of leading health and research institutions as well as some of the nation’s most respected media outlets. The state is thus in a unique position to shape the future of science journalism and health communications and their impact on public policy.
Research!America, with the University of South Florida and Pfizer, presents a Research Partners Forum: Let Me Be Clear: Science Journalism in the Age of the Genome and Twitter. Results from a new Florida poll will provide a springboard for an interactive conversation about media, health research, science and public understanding of these issues in a time of increasing complexity in all of these areas. Two high-level panel discussions, each followed by Q&A, will address these important issues. Leaders in science, health communications, journalism and social media will explore ways journalists and scientists can work together to communicate research news in today’s fast-changing environment.

To become an official BNFE student member, you will need to first register through Blackboard.
To do so, please look for “Request to Join” button under the Student Life tab on Blackboard.
Once in the Student Life section, look for the Student Organizations column on the right-hand side.
- Click on the “Search” button.
- From the new screen, select from the following drop down menus:
- Academic and Professional as a category
- Tampa as the campus location.
- A list of student clubs on our Tampa campus will populate.
- Look for Bulls’ New Frontier of Entrepreneurship on the list,
- Click on the “Request to Join” button.
- That will notify us. In turn, we will contact you or just add your name if you’re in the EAS business program.
